Zitat von ryanWhy does voeckler get the yellow jersey even though sanchez finished ahead of him in this stage? Is it because overall he has the best time from all previous stages added up?
Correct.
There's been examples in the past where the overall winner wins the race without winning any stages. Armstrong did it one year I'm quite sure.
Contador did this last year i think? Been done a few times.
Indeed he did. I hate it, shouldn't be possible. I've always admired the aggressive riders the most.

I'm not sure if Contador is bluffing about his knee injury? It's no secret that he's not a favorite of the peloton. Karpets pushes him off on stage9. http://hub.velocentric.com/karpets-pushe...m-peloton-video looks like feel bad. I don't want Shleck to win so if Bertie don't win it then i'd like to see Evans do it. I don't think anyone else stands a chance. As for green, i'd like to see Phillipe Gilbert do it.
why the cops getting involved in sundays crashes, the one with the car is simple, error on the drivers part, he swerved to miss the tree and accidently hit the rider, maybes shouldnt of been that close to the riders, just one of those things thats happened, cant do nothing about it now.
Phillipe Gilbert has done so well, his project the other day was admirable. He rides like the old classics from the 90's, Museeuw, Dekker, Durand etc.

This might be a silly question but I'll ask it anyway.
How come someone like Mark Cavendish doesn't have the best overall race time. Is it a case of him doing very well one day and finishing first and then the next day or the day after losing a lot of time. I can't really figure it out, looks to me he has finished fastest. Or is it that he is finsihing first out of the 'peloton' and there is actually a group of riders further ahead of him getting better times.

Cavendish is not the overall leader of the tour, he is the current owner of the green jersey. There are points allocated to the position in each day's finish and the rider with the most number of these points wears the green jersey. This jersey is typically a contest between the sprinters - riders who can accelerate very quickly at the end of a stage to win the final dash across the line.
Yeah I know, I'm meaning why is he not the overall leader of the tour. I see him crossing the finish line first all the time. Or is it that he isn't actually crossing the finish line he is crossing the sprint finish line, which is further back form the actual finish line?

Cavendish, and sprinters in general, aren't very good in the mountains and often lose a lot of time in the Pyrenees. Often in the mountain stages the peleton gets broken up into several groups as well as a breakaway group quite often. So sprinters often struggle at these stages and thats when the real time differences emerge, because theres obviously not a massive winning margin in a sprint; often a second or less. Also, the peleton are given a group time (i'm not 100% sure on this) so everyone who finishes the stage within the peleton gets the same time.
Horrible wee crash there, Vockeler in yellow just went straight into a parker car.. looks like everyones alright and back on their bike though!
Still very close, to be honest I can't see Contador getting 2,5 minute on Schleck.
Evans looks strong as well, but I doubt he'll be able to catch up if the other favourites rides aggressively on some of the coming stages.
Today was a bit of a let down, Andy tried but not fully hearted, Contador is too weak and Evans is too boring to try anything on his own.
Samuel Sanchez has done very well as well, really like the way he rides. Can't see him on the podium though.
Was impressed by Basso today too, I've always liked him (To be honest doping scandals doesn't really affect my view on riders, Virenque is my all-time favourite). I hope he does well, perhaps he's a valid candidate for top three.
