Anyone else on here got a pair? I've had mine for almost a year now after having the smaller 'Tour' ones I bought the larger 'Studio' ones but I'm having bother with the cables connecting to the headphone itself. I know Monster specialise in cables so I thought the quality would have been better.
This is the normal red cable that comes standard with the headphone and hear the jack the cable has worn away
This is the control talk which is a hands free if you're using them with a your mobile phone, again same ware as the first cable.
Has anyone had trouble like this before? I tried a quick Google but didn't turn up any results, these were bought from HMV so are from an authorised dealer spoken to Monster and they are looking to charge me £50+ for a replacement cable (£100+ for both) seems a bit crap when you pay £300 for the headphones and now I can't listen to music as both cables are broken.
Almost a year? Get your reciept out and get them changed, dont ask demand,3 hundred nicker for some headphones ,i would expect them to last 3 years at least , read your consumer rights and go armed with this knowledge , if they wont change them they should repair them free at the very least imo
I spoke to HMV who told the manufactures who are Monster Cables and they said that I’d need to buy replacement cables.
I still have the receipt inside the box, I’ll dig it out again tonight and call HMV but they have this stupid headphone insurance they always try and offer you which I didn’t take as it’s usually a scam along with their HMV point scheme that you have to pay an extra £5 at the till if you want to collect points.

I bet you any money HMV never spoke to Monster Cables. You'll have a gaurantee in the box you bought them with. If this says 12 months on it then send them back. You don't need insurance, you've got a gaurantee! Have a read of the terms and conditions.
You get 12 month guarantee on electrical goods anyways dont you standard that is, Was going to pick a pair up aswell put me off think i`ll go the new sleek ones due out
A trader will usually offer you a refund for a faulty item if you:
have proof of purchase, eg a receipt haven’t had a chance to use the item or have only used the item a few times
If you’ve had or used the item for a longer period of time, by law you have ‘accepted’ the goods. You won’t be entitled to a refund, but the trader should offer to repair or replace the item. A repair must fix the original fault (eg a broken zip). If it doesn’t, you can then ask for either a refund or replacement. You may need to get legal advice about whether you have accepted the goods. For example, you probably wouldn’t have the right to a refund if you used a lawnmower for months and the blade broke. But if you bought the lawnmower in the winter and couldn’t use it until the spring, you may have the right to a refund. Each situation will be different, so it’s best to speak to the trader as soon as you discover the fault.
