not sure about shopping but some nice bars and restaurants around the bastille area.

I always struggle with finding decent shops when i go abroad.

I seem to remember a small area behind the louvre to the left of it as you are looking at the front that was quite good for shopping.

Paris is expensive! And I live in Norway...

Struggled to find decent shops when we went. Huge prices didn't help either.

but do expect some high prices. And the Lafayette Galleries...

there is plenty of shopping to do in Paris but possibly not the attire most of the people here wear

and st germain blvd for the designer shops on the other side of the river from the tower etc.

When i went to paris there was a shop that only sold the wee toys you get in a mcdonalds happy meal, that was quite good.

Only browse their website but they have a few stores in Paris

We're going for 5 days and got tickets for Miles Kane at La Cigale on the Saturday night. Should be cracking.

And yes the money is tucked away to make the most of the delights La Ville-Lumière has to offer

I fucking hated it when I went. Too expensive and not the biggest fan of the French!

Did a few days in Paris and a quick nose around and didn't find too much, and as said, prices are high. Doesn't help the Euro is high at the moment, paid 10 euros for a pint in some bar there

Flagship Store Stone Island @ Rue St Honoré (or something like that)

Went to that Colette place back in January but walking down, the closer we got the louder the car horns got. The street was blocked with big posh, black cars. Few paps about, and several people crowded. Couldn't get near Colette. Stopped to see what the fuss was and noticed the door open on one of these big, posh, black cars and some bloke inside seemingly biding his time. Couldn't see who it was at first but it was clearly someone famous.

Then out popped P Diddy.

Surreal as owt.

We never went in. Instead we went in some very expensive Japanese knitwear place where everyone was mega-nice. Paris is fucking smart though. Can't wait to go back. It's London but better. And French. And with far fewer chains/commercialisation.

I'm going there for the food and sight's pal don't mind paying for it as I'm with the wife, if I was on my own I'd just buy gear and eat nothing but it's a nice little break for her away from the kids for 3 days.

I am sneaking some mdma over though, so maybe we won't eat.

I would recommend stoping in the bastille area its lively and a short overland train journey to tower etc.

its a great base for a few days in paris.

if you don't stop there its well worth going for an evening as there are plenty of ncxie places to eat drink etc etc
