Not saying every Leeds lad felt that way but the culture then and maybe now among Leeds was very racist, individually probably nice guys but in a group very unpleasant, few drinks and all the same old crap comes out. Black lads from Leeds were not and maybe still aren't welcome at ER. Which is odd as Leeds were quite welcoming to people from Bradford/Doncaster/York etc who really should have supported their home town team. Just thought that the article should have reflected that, it wasn't all about nice clothes and haircuts. Not just Leeds, Newcastle fans were horrible to black players in the 80's.
The lads who wrote the article were very young though(at the time). I ve been following Leeds since the late 70s, and my best Leeds mate is black. He took a load of shit in the late 70s early 80s, but he didnt give a fuck, We still go together now, and he s a well respected lad now, although there are still total cunts who ll call him the N word
