The carry-on luggage thing is a joke. First time we did it I was panicking and measuring various cases and bags to make sure it met the size limits. The extra charge is ridiculous - £50odd. Get to the terminal and there's some cunts walking through with a fucking bag big enough to cover a gorilla. With a smug look I'm thinking "these wankers are going to get stung big time" but the bird just lets them through! Strolling straight past that tiny basket its supposed to fit in as I curse my tiny case that is more wheels and handle than actual storage space.

Apologies for the rant :) I've taken my Calabrese Lipari on BA, Ryanair and Easy Jet with no problems. But that Chapman is a beaut

Thanks Phil. I know what you mean, I spend a lot of time travelling and see that all the time. The Calabrese is my back up option if I can't find what I want. Although I have just emailed Chapman for a bespoke Navy/Tan version, I'll see what price comes back.
If you are after something a bit more substantial than what is essentially a hold all. Victorinox & Mandarina Duck do some nice weekend luggage that will meet the aircraft carry-on sizing bollox.

trust me, you want to keep using the wheelie trolleys. I travel alot on shorter trips and i got both a small weekend bag I need to carry and a wheelie trolley and the trolley is perfect. I know its not the best looking but most airports you need to walk some distance and the wheels are nice for that
