Probably in the minority here but don't take any satisfaction in seeing them or City crash out. Both can now concentrate on the league and and will still go very far in the Europa fielding weakened sides (and I wouldn't rule out a City/United final). Staying in the CL would have kept them both occupied so I'm not sure this is great news for Chelsea, Spurs, the arse and Liverpool. That said, the flaws in the 2011 version of United are there for all to see. That midfield didn't get the surgery it required in the summer. Interesting few months ahead.
don't see it that way , ok City not sure it'll effect their season , but United I think it will . United , ok , field a weakened team , but with the amount of injuries they've got think they may fall away a bit in the League ..
Proper CL night tonight. Lyon managing an unlikely 7 goal swing to progress, pretty comfortable in the end. CSKA scoring a late winner in Milan to progress. City out (how shit are Villareal?!). United out, bacon face will be fucking raging... Never mind, there's always next year!!

tonight certainly wasn't in the script - I'm just worried how it will affect the dynamics of the league. City's no 1 target this season was always the title. I've had United down as one of the top two/three sides in Europe over the past 5 years and was shocked they didn't bring a Modric/Sneijder type to the club to try and close the gap between themselves and Barca. Impossible to see past Barca and Real now unless they draw each other at some stage before the final.

Maybe now it will make Fergie see that the quality just isn't there? Shocking stuff tonight, never seen a more sorry bunch of disinterested and incapable bunch of players wearing the United shirt. At least if he does sign in January he won't have to worry about CL eligibility...

You seen it pal? Al looks a bit dodgy to be very honest, looked as if a few Dynamo players just stepped aside for the Lyon players to score. Ajax didn't have any luck either, two goals disallowed for offside while it wasn't. Would have gone 2-1 up if they would ave counted
Quote by RVP's Left FootSeason over for United. City to knock em out of FA Cup and no chance of catching The Noisy Neighbours in League.
Get it up ya Fergie and that twat Neville.
It looked like they were in for a cracking season after they smashed 8 past the Arse.
It was the Arse reserves.
You still had some big hitters out. It's funny because Chelsea had a similar start to last season, they come out the blocks all guns firing then their season came crashing down before christmas.
