Anyone done it?..im home for 3 weeks at a time and every other cunt is at work during the week so ive been thinking aboot going away on ma tod for a few days..
any lone travelers out there? advice on where tae go?
My mate went to malaysia in late january on his own....Still in asia, rented a bike and went across vietnam !! Sounds like he's having a brilliant time, met loads of new people......Been robbed a few times but he's took it on the chin and stuck at it !! I remember asking him how much he was taking, he got his flight stupidly cheap, something like £200 and he was budgeting at most £8 quid a day.....he's got 10 grand that he had saved so he could be there for years !!
Quote by STEVECFCalways wanted to discover Japan , not somewhere my missus or kids fancy , fascinated by their history and culture ...
a few places i want tae go but feart of spending a lot and getting there and getting bored on ma own...however im often bored here on ma own...
Been twice,You won't be bored on your own, plenty of places and stuff to do....The younger generation of Japanese are friendly(unlike the older ones)....Just take plenty of imodium cos you'll be shitting through an eye of a needle in no time
I was working in South Korea last year , went to Tokyo for a day for my visa - not exactly exploring Japan but one crazy city , had a good day there ..

If your putting it off through fears of not meeting anyone to go around with, dont....If your outgoing and game for a laugh/good time, everyones in the same boat so you'll easily make pals on the move !!
Where are you thinking ? If i was you i'd go somewhere cheap with lots to do !!

Been travelling on my own twice and didn't regret it either time. First time was immediately after being made redundant and I took the cash and went to South Africa, Australia, Thailand and Vietnam. Had no problem meeting people 'cos I was staying in backpackers' hostels and about half the people there were on their tod. There is also loads of tours and you'll find that 90% of fellow travellers are very sociable. The second time was after I finished teacher training and I had three months before I started school (unlike the miserly 6 weeks I get now;) ). Booked it all on easyJet and went to Berlin, Tallin and Poland. Again, had an amazing time and met my missus in Krakow. Hostels can range from sh!tholes to quite classy and as good as or better than a lot of hotels. Check if they have a bar as that is a good way to meet folks. Enjoy.
Been thinking about doing the same for ages myslef, not just a holiday but travelling for a longer time and after a few months waiting i finally got my Canadian visa through at the end of last week so ill hopefully be going over there soon unless something comes up over here. Think if i didnt end up giving it a go id end up regretting it.
Get a map of europe pick two places youed like to visit, book a flight to lets say sweden, and book another to fly home from lets say italy, give your self two weeks to get from one to the other see were the wind takes you. a day ere a few days there, a motorbike, hitchhike, trains no strict schedule if a place is shit do one! I had three months out in america a few years ago, met a lad who was applying for a trucker license because he had enjoyed being out on the road hitchhiking and in the trucks. He told me hed made money traveling from chicago to austin texas. If you decide to embark on a mad one stick a travel log up on ere.

Took your advice on this, me and a mate of mine just booked to go dubrovnik croatia in october and come back two week later from sofia bulgaria. 90 quid each for flights.
^ I'd suggest you get to Novi Sad in Serbia, and Mostar in Bosnia. You'll do a lot of Yugoslavia in a fortnight. Mind, the trains go about 30mph, but you can open up the doors and dangle your legs out.
Re OP - I went across Europe on my bike alone. If you can sit in a pub or restaurant on your own at home, you're laughing when you're away. You'll meet loads of people, you're more interesting and less intimidating to others on your own.
Really want to see Mostar and Sarajevo, any part of the former Yugoslavia as well for that matter. The whole Balkan region is my favourite part of the world. Great women, food, weather and fascinating history.
