Really looking forward to it, could be a big tour for Cav & Wiggins, just hope the expectations don't get too much as Wiggins appears to be in the form of his life at pres.
There's talk of Cavendish being more of a team player this season and maybe dropping out in the final stages so as to compete in the Olympics. As for Wiggins, he's 6' 3" and 10.5 stone, the guys a freak of nature.
Incredible the victory of Sagan at Boulogne-Sur-Mer. Think Evans, Sammi and some outsider has also good chances to win the Tour. I hope also that Mollema and Gesink gonna be top in the high mountains. They were looking good the first stages...
Cadel Evans is on top form for this years tour...Wiggins obviously is aswell considering his prologue performance....should be good.....been watching the tour since i was a kid...my dad loved it and always had it on 6pm on C4 as we ate dinner.
Ooh they don't like a couple of Brits atop of the GC do they? Those nasty frogs throwing tacks onto the road and chaos ensued with punctures galore. Just hope Wiggins can see it through now to stick it up those accusing French and Spanish cunts.

Makes or pro footballers look like pussies don't it mate. I remember Tyler Hamilton breaking his shoulder on the first stage a few years back, the guy actually went on to finish the tour, relieving the pain by grinding down his back teeth!

Yeah you have to admire them. Some of the crashes look very nasty but in most cases they shake themselves down and get back on. Like the example you gave, fucking hell!
Quote: Hammertime wrote in post #13Interesting documentary on Wiggins on ITV4 last night, good insight into his career and his past performance and some of issues he has had on the way.
Enjoyed watching that mate, his early career was filled with self doubt and low esteem. Who would have though that little fat ginger headed kid would one day go on to win one of the most famous and prestigious race's in the World.
Certainly gives a good insight into his career, the ups and downs he has experienced. Did you see the Pendleton one on BBC1 T ? , some similarities to Wiggins over the years, particularly the physiological issues, very interesting. The training and commitment these guys put in really is something. I appreciate there has been a massive financial investment in British Cycling but we certainly have some talent at present, can't wait for the Olympics as should be some battle with the Aussies in a few of the races.

Gutted I missed it mate, there's something decidedly sexy about a woman in lycra, sweating profusely.
Around 5 year ago she decided she wanted to start mountain biking with me, at first I were reluctant but then stating having thought's of lycra and hot sweating, sorry sweating woman, so bought her a bike and all the gear. Our first outing weren't too bad as the course were pretty flat, altough she did drink my camelback dry in the first hour! However, the next time we went to a different location, it's a proper course with various degrees of difficulty. To please her we went on the beginner's, aka, the kiddy trail. It probably took around half an hour to complete the course so we took a little rest. Fancy going around again I said, yes, why not came the reply. Half way round whilst climbing a simple hill she jumped off her bike threw it to the ground and said "Fuck it.....I ain't going up another fucking hill!" and starts to march back to the car........
Victoria Pendleton she ain't!
She moved in with me just over 4 years ago and cycled to my house where the bike was placed in the shed, It's not seen the light of day since!
Another cracking finish today, great to see Cavendish fly again. Hoping for a repeat Sunday, would be the perfect finish to see Cav win another stage and Wiggins crowned.

Fuck me that was awesome.....what a finish!
Just goes to show how Sky are geared up to winning the yellow jersey this year. Can you imagine what Cav would have done to the also ran's if he had Renshaw as his lead out man.

Had a lengthy chat with a guy at work about the Tour today T and we both said that, Renshaw is class although we havent heard much from him this tour. Tbf to Cav he's always very quick to appreciate his team mates as is wiggins. Good post stage interview with Cav tonight after his win, would have loved to have been in that Sky bus this morning when Sean Yates said we are taking it easy today and Cav puts his hand up and asks for a chance to win the stage, jesus the best sprinter in the world has to ask !!They certainly seem a very close knit team a geared up for Wiggins to take the Yellow jersey but trying to please as many team members as possible. One thing I have wondered over recent days is could Froome have actually won this years Tour, there's been a few examples of him appearing to follow team orders ( yesterday being the most recent ) and although Wiggins is by far the best in the time trial but I honestly think it could have been very very close, the way Froome has riden at times is breath taking imho. I would'nt mind a wager on him for next years tbh.
Could be a real dilemma for Sky next year. 100th anniversary of the Tour, with almost certainly the reigning champion in their team. However, with what is expected to be a few more mountains Froome likely to be the stronger rider. Can he pay second fiddle to Wiggins again? And what of Cavendish? Sky can't dedicate 5/6 riders for a decent lead-out team when they have 2 GC contenders to look after. Without that support even Cav would struggle to get back Green again.
I don't claim to be an expert on cycling but from what I've read it would seem the stages and time trials were perfect for Wiggins this year, next year will not suit him as much. Also the field will be stronger next year when the injured and (caught) cheaters are back in the Peloton. Froome is an absolute animal in the mountains and can hold his own in the time trials so unless SKY promise to give him a shot at winning next year then I think he may leave SKY which would be a shame as I'm enjoying seeing the French in agony as they watch Brits dominate their race together.
From the interviews with Wiggins I have seen Im getting the impression this year is his and I can see him returning the favour to Froome tbh, whether that is next year or the year after time will tell. It will be interesting to see what Cavendish does especially if Sky go all out for GC again next year, Im not so sure he will be over impressed, he is getting closer and closer to the record stage wins number but if this years Tour is anything to go by the days of 5 stage wins a Tour could be gone imho. I agree I can't see him in Green again, Sagan looks quality even though he also appears to be a clever t wat. I dread to think the running costs of Team Sky, Wiggins apparently became a millionaire overnight when he signed!
