Being honest Mox, this board has the right ingredients to be just like 80s but a little more civilized.
By that I mean we operate as a little 'unheard' of bunch of miscreants that share something that keeps us heading towards a goal that keeps on getting further away the more we near it!
Plus it's gotta be better than F***d with it's FB recruits!

To my mind we stay as we are, a close knit group that know each other (and look out for one another) and regards any newcomers with suspicion. Seems harsh, but it's how 80s has run for the last four years.
After all, what's the purpose of accepting every Tom Dick and you know who other than bumping up the numbers?
What say we make the acceptance by invite or by knowledge only?

Agree with Jack. The vast majority of the posts on here are good. The 'dickhead count' (official name now) is also a lot less than on nomad. Personally glad that a lot of people went back to nomad. It's nto like we are the same forum and are competing for members. We're a rarer breed over here so nomad will always be busier. Not a bad thing in my books.
I came over her once the F place shut down, not registered on nomad. There is a great vibe here compared to other forums. Makes it feel like a proper community which is what it's all about
You could compare last night's frenzy with the poor unfortunate dog who's booted out on the street whilst his owners are at work. The poor mut will sit there patiently waiting at the door for his masters return. After awhile he'll walk around aimlessly and eventually he'll find some one to play with. I won't expect many who came on last night to return unless there's another hiccup over the road. But i do believe some good will have come of last night and we may have attracted a few more 'top dog' members.
