No need my galaxy note is just the job, was amazed to learn that the kindle sells at a loss but makes its money on the products/apps you buy. Not for me
I don't see the point as its £70 less than the iPad but smaller ? Why would you want it smaller ? Doesn't make much sense to me marketing wise as surely the next size down would just naturally be the iPhone ?
they're going for the kindle book reader market which the google nexus/kindle fire tablets have eased open. why buy something that can only read books when, for a bit more, you can get all this? for all it's aceness, the ipad isn't hugely practical as a portable used-on-the-go device. the kindle/google/ipad mini-sized devices are.
I've got a Kindle so I see where you are coming from, I was going to get an iPad this month but Christmas has well and truly taken over cost wise so ill wait for a bit. I'm passing the apple shop Friday so ill have a look at them then.
if you're considering an ipad, the ipad 2 refurbs from either the apple store or argos outlet ebay are ace. about £100 cheaper, fully tested and with the full one year guarantee. thats what i got, indistinguishable from a non-refurb one. i cant see there's enough in the new ipad to go beyond ipad 2 at the price.
I've not saw those fella, ill have a good search tonight and see what's on offer. You can pick up the iPad 2 now for about 260 which is too bad for what it is, I refused to go above that price mark with them because they don't do enough for the cost of it IMO but I'd like one for the house for browsing.

Cheers for the heads up,
S if you were considering a used one stay away from shops like CEX, a grade A 2nd gen is only 10 pound cheaper from them than the Current RRP Of £329
I didnt know they sold the ipads refurbed, I've looked at the macs in the past but never purchased, The 3rd gen for £315 is a steal im tempted i must admit !!

there's no difference that i can see. also it's been thoroughly tested before going back on sale, moreso than the 'new' ones i suspect. argos ebay outlet gets them quite often. got mine through apple
Quote: The Individual wrote in post #17£315 for the 3rd gen on Apple look's the best bet. £259 for the 2nd gen refurb but I've saw them new for that so will go for the 3rd gen I think.
I swear those first gens weren't on there about an hour ago !!
I know with the Mac's stock comes and goes in batches !!
Is there much difference between i-pad 2 and 3 ? if nothing of note i'll get a 2 , but if the 3 is noticeably different I'd rather get the 3 for the difference in price ..
£315 looks a good bet. one thing to bear in mind is memory. if you use a lot of big apps (i use a lot of synthesizer stuff) 16gb goes quite quickly so you have to manage things on your computer. i got a £32gb one of the ipad 2 because the extra space was more useful to me than the improved graphics and a camera.

A better screen (Apparently) my mate at Uni buys anything apple bring out and he's had both and says there is a big difference in picture quality, i couldn't tell the difference though !!
Save a few quid and get the 2 If you're not bothered about a slightly better screen and camera !
