Quote: edd wrote in post #21On the odd occasion I go into the b'ham centre I start the night in The Lord clifden just outside the jewellery qtr on constitution hill, good beer and food, some decent music and women (at times) great little beer garden with outside bar and tv for sports events, even has a table tennis table down the bottom. Then onto the jam house in jewelry qtr which is usually so busy on the dance floor you can grope all night long - has website so can check what band are on. Mixed age groups at both of these. Havn't been on broad st for few years seemed more for Asian's last time I was there.
Lord Clifden's nice. So is the Rose Villa Tavern by the clock in the JQ (now it's been done up). Also Red Lion down the hill. Like Moseley for decent pubs/restaurants too.

Harborne is too, Henry Wong especially, very london resturant styled.
Around christmas time i went to the yard bird, a jazz club, had a band on doing covers, was brilliant, excellent vibe but an older (better dressed too) crowd i must add !! I'd suggest going there for a beer or two, maybe before snobs !! Theres a wetherspoons next door which is empty in comparison so we were getting beers from there and taking them into the yardbird, saved a fortune and lots of time too !!

The Plough in Harbourne is a killer boozer. Really good wood fired pizza's in there.
Had forgotten about the Yard Bird. Could be good for these lads. close to Broad St but very different in attitude. Run by an ex Wolves gangsters brother = don't play up in there.

Must make an absolute killing, wall to wall full of affluent types buying £50 rounds !!....Im tempted to say it was a thursday too but it might of been a friday !!
If you want to stay out late and like a bit of House and its accompanied 'Robert Gernshaws', then you could try Rainbow and then 2:31 which is open till silly time.
If you want to get blind drunk and throw drinks and be the centre of attention with your pals to some decent band music, then like Chinky_Alan said, o Snobs.
Bouncers are awkward on broad street, no two ways about it. Always made to feel like you're not supposed to be in there. Seen it to some young lads infront of me the weekend. Got ignored and blocked from walking in then took the piss out of. Think they had a drink and fucked off which i don't blame them.
Been in the yardbird a few times, not as exciting when i've been in there, but good beer nonetheless.
bloke on the lloyds bar spoons got funny about our ID's ended up having to bribe the cunt otherwise it was hometime for us, worth the money in the end tho hahaha
