Imagine how it feels for me, watching all you fans of smaller clubs, moaning about life in the Premier league, when my club that is far bigger than most, languishes in the lower division...

I have a fortnight's overtime planned so it's going to be busy running up to christmas. Have a couple of nights out planned but I generally need the next day off these days as I am usually ruined. Only had the four bottles of Erdinger last night and some Prosecco so today should be painless. Actually going to town myself this morning.

wondering what Andy and the other Utd lads think about the time Moyes will be afforded? I honestly cant see if being much. He'll probably get the first 8 games of next season even if he misses the CL places but modern football and its associated structures (death by pundit analysis, social media, moron phone-ins, etc....) will have the bulk of Utd "fans" going mental (those schooled on the premise of a bad season being an FA Cup win....). Can't see the Glaziers holding firm if that starts kicking off. will he even get a full season if the CL place is in doubt?
"The nightmares invading the sleep of Bayern fans involve four horsemen of the Champions League Apocalypse riding towards them. As the faces come into focus, they will recognise Frank Lampard, Cole, Petr Cech and Drogba. All were immense..."
The Glazers have to have CL football the debt on the club is massive it's similar to the scenario Liverpool were in with Gillette & Hicks. If Moyes does not deliver CL football next season or any trophy it's the end for him, long way to go yet though.
I think the Glazers can still service the debt and make money from the club without CL - it'll mean no big signings, big earners being let go and lots more marketing "partnerships". Bringing in a small timer like moyes looks like the start of a managed decline.
I'm not sure Glenn. The main problem was leaving the appointment to Fergie imo. I believe that even if the Glazers get to a point of wanting Moyes gone that Fergie will talk them out of it pointing back to when he arrived at OT and how long it took him to get success (ignoring the fact that Fergie took over a struggling team and Moyes has been handed the champions). If Moyes turns out to be a huge flop it would all be on Fergie and his ego won't let that happen easily. The Glazers have no clue about football matters and so they left the choice of Fergie's successor in his hands believing no one could be better placed to do it. Sounds good I suppose but in truth it was seriously flawed. For instance, would Fergie have picked Moyes if he wasn't a Scot? All this 'cut from the same cloth' is a nice ideal but what does it have to do with football management of multi-millionaire players and winning trophies? I also think Moyes was chosen knowing he was a yes man. Won't rock the boat and is honoured just to be manager of United. I'm also not sure why Fergie is attending every match including European aways?
Serious question. Was Fergie worried about his successor coming in and bagging a load of trophies?

something I was thinking the other day .. quite astute by Fergie , look how bad they are struggling / yet oh great one managed to win the league .. kinda plausable , but also think it this way , we are so used to managers getting sacked early , we're almost programmed into thinking few games lost = sacking .. maybe a bit of time he'll turn things around , I do think Utd need to strengthen in few areas , however Giggs is , at 72 he can't sustain a full season ..
Chelsea are the same , players in that team just aren't good enough ..
