After years of slagging you cunts off ☺️ Had a session on it yesterday, some cullercoats I love nelly stuff??? Fucking hell man strong bits of kit ..I'll stick to Stella
Not really a real ale man myself and I wouldn't actively seek out one of their boozers, but I will grab a few bottles on the rare occasions I venture into Tesco. Some of it is pretty good tbh whilst others get the old balloon knot twitching!
Real ale is big in Sheffield...some of it is fucking awful, had a session the other Saturday on 'Belgian Blue' a local brewed ale, made with seasonal berries...its rocket fuel...long story short...I had a shit in the bath!!🍺
Quote: redmond wrote in post #8Haha quality...av had one in the shower before and had to push it through the plug hole with my foot..whiskey never again
I like to go into the local weatherspoons and try whatever they ave on tap... usually have 8 different ales on. Theres another pub in Darlington called The Half Moon which hasn't changed in a good 40 year, still has the old outside toilets... they are a real ale pub, get some very obscure drinks in.
Stick at it for a year or so and you will find its canny hard going back to the basic lager that most pubs sell... Now I may know a stout from an ipa but I deffo cant taste 10 or different tastes in one drink, all I know is when you get a good 6% or higher drink... its game over in a few hours haha
I used to swear by Brown Ale but I find it too weak these days lol

Not that I've noticed reggie... Have you tried the Belgian blue from same brewery as farmers blonde?
Actually now I think there is a few places sell real ale in darlington ... theres a pub which has live bands on often and only sells ale, its called 'The Quaker house' and another called bar twenty 2.
Weatherspoons gets the best in though and its usually about £2 a pint.... the best I tried recently was called 'The Axe Man'.

I finished off with a bottle of Brown & I've never drank that for years The toilet the day is a no go zone 😷
Thornbridge do some cracking real ales. I spend a fortune on their site. Tesco sell their one called Jaipur. I would recommend it to anyone who is thinking of trying a real ale.
Come on my friends, lets make for the hills. They say there's gold but I'm looking for thrills.
I do like kipling, but I've not seen it on the website for a few months. I have just purchased a couple of cases of crackendale and managed to get a bottle of rain drops on roses to try, it's a decent brew. I will get some when it's back on the site.
