I've had my credit cards used fraudulently twice over the years and I'm think I'm quite careful with my details. The banks are like insurance companies they'll try and wriggle out of paying out by blaming you, something the outgoing head of the met agrees with.
Invest in some Gold and Silver. That way if it all goes belly up and the banks refuse to let people withdraw "their" money out, you will have something worth of value in your hand.

I couldn't live without my banking app, it means I can sort everything out wherever I am in the world. Perfect example of it's importance was last week when I needed some extra cash which was in my savings account which runs alongside a current account, a quick transfer of funds on the app and everything was sorted. You can do everything on there really, set up SO's/DD's, etc..... It's even more important now since Natwest insist on closing more and more branches. Two near me have closed recently.
