went last year with mate and the wives for my mrs 40th. Had an absolute blinding time, one of the best ever. Stayed at Planet Hollywood which was superb and worked out cheap as well - gorgeous young birds working the floor and rock music played 24/7. I give it the full 'Jim from The Apprentice' Irish blarney when checking in and got us upgraded to suites. breakfast buffets about 15-$20 dollars and has amazing variety of grub. Had a nose around the Bellagio (we had almost booked it but it was a ton more than PH and it was recommended to us) - lovely but a bit more formal than PH. Caesars had The Pussycat Dolls pit Did the helicopter trip to the canyon which as Wrighty says, was awesome and a bit hairy. THe Mrs did a Sky dive which she loved. Drink was about £2.75-£3 a beer roughly. Grub was lovely in general. Most places you'll get free drink if playing but as been said, the gambling is only a small part to be honest. My favourite memory was the first morning (sunday) at 6am. We were shattered saturday night so didn't stay up too late, I was up at 6am sunday morning and went down to the Casino floor to get a starbucks. Entered the lift and AC/DC Back in Black was blasting full on and the doors opened to the casino floor, which was still buzzing (6 am!!). Over saunters this honey of a waitress in fishnets, basque, knee high boots, gorgeous she was, with a tray of Corona and says "Can I get you a beer sir....?".....I thought I'd died and gone to heaven.... welcome to Vegas going back next year for my 40th.

GET A PARMATE !!! Look into that gav you`ll be pulling one off in every bunker me m8 played at one over there bali hill or baly hai or summin like that cant remember
My mates (three 40/41 yrs olds) have just returned (Friday). To be honest they didn't really sell the place to me. The prices are what they told me they paid, it was cheaper for draft beer at dive bars off the Strip. And now doubt there are cheaper places. But this is just a representation.
I was surprised (probably naively as not visited the US for over a decade.) about how expensive it seems to be these days. 10$ minimum chips for playing the tables. Slots cheaper. Food seemed expensive - A main course steak at New York, New York casino was $70 a head. Buffet breakfast (forgot hotel) $25, Beer $10-7 a bottle, Grand Canyon helicopter ride $320 each, 20 Marlboro Lights at the Bellagio were £7. Lap dance at a club mid-week worked out at $80 with admission, dance, tip etc. and one pole dancer was so hefty the pole was visibly bending under her weight!!!
They went for 6 nights and reckoned it was probably to long unless you're a hardcore gambler.

yeah, I can see their point. I was surprised as well that the minimum tables for black jack etc....was $10 but there were other 'fun' games like a wheel of fortune idea where you could kill an hour cheaply enough, get a couple of free beers and enjoy the banter. Or slots. The beer was about right. You could drink cheaper down Fremont street but Fremont street is best described like the place in Vegas Vacation where Cousin Eddie takes Clarke and they play games like guess the number reckon that was based on Fremont Street The only one I'd query a bit is the food. We ate at the Chinese for example in PH and it was very very reasonable and £2.50 a bottle of beer which was spot on. Generally we found the food okay priced - airing on the side of cheaper than here generally. The Grand Canyon thing is absolutely superb. Well worth every penny. Given how much we ship on clothes etc...this is something you'll remember all your days. I still get visions of flying up the Vegas strip in the front seat of the Heli with Aerosmith Sweet Emotion blasting. Unreal.
