not sure how it matters how many forums you go on . each one has a different vibe , OSTI seems to be mainly SPW orientated , some cracking lads on there . here is a good mixture of brands , bit Bertie Bassett . 80's , speaks for itself , 80's ethos of trainers / clothing , though it's changed fair bit .
Off Hand is probably the best forum around at the moment in my opinion.
I do agree with alot of the comments Carl made last night,
Some members from Osti Archive come on here and say they dont like half of the clothes we talk about on here and dont like the set up etc, that's upto them, fair enough, but then you dont need to go over to Osti to post that, why not PM Admin on here with any ideas you have and try and help the place out (not that it need to be, IMO) instead of fucking off and talking shite about this place then coming back on and acting all friendly to the members.
Some how, it's got to a stage where certain members think there is some sort of rivalry between the two forums, why this is i do not know?
They are two totally different forums with different vibes, members and tastes the way it should be, if it was the same as Osti people would still complain, always some cunt to do that.
i don`t go on other forums though so i have no problem with that what my more to the point problem is at present is not forum rivalry as like i say i dont frequent them and would not want to but its the fact off sometimes i feel i have to defend myself and alot of lads on here who enjoy this board because some others want to wreck it imo by posting negative shit .... which they get away with constantly ???? then switch it to words such as over here etc and swing it round into forum rivalry but as a member of off_hand only i probably spot this more than others off multiple forums

Both excellent in what they are and do, i like this forum alot even though im not a prolific poster im allways around this forum more than osti (only two im on)
Agree with some points made and one by the topic starter Carl the constant posting even on recent pick ups not for me, shit etc is just looking for conflict imo

Is the correct answer. However I too do not understand the posting of things like shit etc. If its not your cup of tea and you dislike somethimg at least give a reason rather than a one word post with no insight into your thought process. It is easy to be negative but give your reasons. Even if itis something as simple as you think something is too lairy in thecolour of it at least it shows a thought process rather than a kneejerk reaction that comes across as just looking for confrontation.

I don't see what the problem is with anyone airing their view no matter what forum they are on ? as long as they are prepared to take it as well as give it ? if people put up what they have just bought or what they are wearing they are open for praise/criticism and general banter, that's the whole point but none of it matters, it only takes a shrug of the shoulders - if that's how people choose to participate then that's life, just give it back and take it, forums are just a bit of a laugh and places to air your views and should be treated as such, if someone told me how much they hated something I've put up it doesn't matter and vice verse - would you rather have a forum full of arse licking ? or a forum where people speak truth ?

I disagree with that. People are entitled to post their opinion, surely?
Providing it's done constructively, there's nothing wrong with people saying they dislike things.
but a forum will always take differing directions , new people come on , older ones leave , people's taste in clothing changes - things wont stay same . I joined found nyc at very beginning , was small full of very knowledgeable lads on SPW , it closed , and you had threads like ' what you eating for tea ? ' . I chose to ignore threads that don't appeal to me , but change will always happen , live with it .

Everyone is entitled to there opinion, the bit what i was getting at and im sure Carl is aswell is the opinions or so called that just look for a reaction etc
Airing your opinion is fine as long as it's done in the right way. If you really dislike something or don't like a thread there isn't really a need to post. If for example you say you don't really like a pair of shoes for a certain reason then that's fine, we're not all the same. But just slating someone for getting something is just a bit boring as people will be put off putting up their new items.
