This, the same EDL whose protest in Birmingham led to the RBL having to stop their inaugural day of collecting on statistically the busiest day in the city centre. The same EDL who sold poppy pin badges on eBay and gave none of the proceeds to the RBL. The same EDL who use the poppy, a symbol of charitable donations to, and remembrance of, a non political cause, for their own political gain, not too dissimilar to the other scumbags who burnt one. Fucking disrespectful pricks if you ask me.

they're just nobheads. all this hoo-ha about poppies. the players can wear them the rest of the time if they want and if the FA really want to do something, as i read somewhere, why not donate the gate from saturday's match to the fund (it is at wembley isnt it?. all this 'they'd not doing enough' shite is laughable.

Spot on as usual.
But wheres all this offending Germans come from? Why would it offend them? At uni hardly any poppies on show but my German coursemate wearing one every day. Nonsense.
Seems to me these days the whole point of behind the poppy is being overshadowed by drama about whose wearing one and who isn't etc.

i read somewhere today the germans are all for us having the poppies on the shirts. so how its offending them i dont know. i was more offended at the club sides in britain who chose not to have poppies on there shirts over the weekend.
FIFA has backed down? Shame that - an organisation with such honour and integrity too.......
So.......I wonder which FIFA member England have the dirt on, then?....
"The nightmares invading the sleep of Bayern fans involve four horsemen of the Champions League Apocalypse riding towards them. As the faces come into focus, they will recognise Frank Lampard, Cole, Petr Cech and Drogba. All were immense..."

Well, they have agreed to let them have a poppy on their black armbands so not a total capitulation.
Some bloke was on Sky news earlier talking about this poppy business. He was talking about how "poppy fascism" had taken hold in Britain and in a sense he was right. You never see anyone on the BBC or SKY without a poppy. If you are not wearing one someone will run over and pin one to you before the camera rolls apparently. I wear my poppy with pride and always have done but it is my decision to wear one and I don't judge or look down on anyone who doesn't wear a poppy.
All those men who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we could live in freedom and now the poppy fascists basically dictate that you should wear one. Ironic.
But why has it become imperative to wear poppies on football shirts in the last couple of years? No one did it even five years ago and yet now it's a disgrace if you don't.
