inclined to agree to a certain extent , but they have made an impressive comeback from where they were .. City flying high , no wonder players they have , but I still feel their bubble will burst ..

can't see it. In fact I think the points gap between City and Chelsea will widen as the season goes on rather than narrow. They have, unfortunately, one of the best assembled squads in the history of the Premiership, if not the best - they have it all, height, physique, strength, pace, creativity and goals by the bucket load. Experience and leadership will undoubtedly come with continued success. They may as well make hay while the sun shines, fair play to them.

I agree Colm. But it's no surprise considering the money they have spent. People mention that Chelsea spent a lot, and they did, but not on this scale. Just look at the players that have come and gone and the fact that they can afford to have a near £50Million player on £250,000 a week rotting away doing nothing and another on big money on loan at Spurs. It'll be a shock if they don't win the league IMO.

Very true Andy and, of course, a world record loss of over £194 million posted yesterday. But in the current climate everything seems set up for them to succeed - they're not, as yet, breaking any rules or regulations and I am fairly sure they will have learned from the countless mistakes the Abramovich administration has made at the Bridge. Other clubs and fans will have to deal with the new reality that is Manchester City FC. Nobody better than Alex Ferguson and Man U at dealing with new and different challenges - this is probably their biggest yet though.
Think Arsenal could well finish 3rd if they keep going, Chelsea seemed to have slipped behind.
Can only see Man City winning the title, with Man U obviously coming second.
Citys squad is just amazing, four first team players could get injured, and they'd still have easily enough cover to be the strongest team in the team.
Im quite shocked , considering how defensive City were last year , the way they are banging in goals for fun .. I think Chelsea provided Utd their biggest challenge , Mourinho providing back - back titles .. City , ok FA Cup winners , not won much big for such a long time .. and I dont view Mancini in the same light I do Mourinho .. Lets see , December / January , cold wet shitty pitches how they cope ..
OK , may well walk the league , but I don't personaly think so .. tough games going to Liverpool / Chelsea / Arsenal / Tottenham ..

who do you think will win it Steve? I just can't see beyond City. If we're to say United - I'd say they lack City's overall quality and depth and that their midfield is patchy, especially with Cleverley injured again - that said I'd never write United off. Chelsea? Beginning to think AVB is a bullshitter, has imposed a style and a system that is alien to the players at his disposal - this 'high line' will see Chelsea picked off time and time and time again against the better sides. Lack of firepower - 13 league goals between Anelka, Drogba and Torres for Chelsea since 1st Jan 2011. And also lack City's strength in depth. Arsenal? Perennial bottlers and lack the stomach for a 38 game Premiership. Spurs and Liverpool won't be winning the league for any variety of reasons.
City will be Champions with United as runners up. 3-6 could be anyone from the arse, Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs.
All you've wrote mate I can't argue with .. but to coin a daft phrase , football is a funny game .. City made a blistering start , but say back - back defeats , couple of injuries , players who don't get picked get disgruntled , wheels can easily come off .. Arsenal ? why not ? come real good of late , RVP in incredible form , and have players to come back .. Chelsea ? lost , I am totally lost with what he's trying to do .. Mourinho understudy ? my arse .. Mourihno was tighter than the arse of a duck at the back .. how the fuck can this highline work when JT / Alex / Ivanovic are slower than a Lada ? His tactics need to change , or come Christmas he'll be out on his ear .. rumblings a return of Guus Hiddink .. I do hope so ..
As for United .. write them fuckers off at your peril .. possibly worst squad that won a Premier League title last season ..
not forgetting this time last season Chelsea were breezing the league - then it all fell apart soon as we acquired few injuries and Butch Wilkens got the bulletto ..

to be fair Steve, the Chelsea of last season didn't have City's strength in depth. I think that's one of the big differences. City have so much quality that even in games where they are struggling, someone will step up to the plate. It's impossible to see a team containing Toure, Aguero, Balotelli, Dzeko, Silva, Johnson (very underrated imo) Nasri not scoring in games and therefore dropping points. Milner works his socks off in midfield, de Jong, Barry are seasoned performers so they're not just a bunch of fancy dans either, these fellahs can all put the boot when required. The may lack a little bit of cover at the back but when you're scoring for fun it all seems academic. That may be their achilles heel in Europe but the CL will be a learning experience for them this season. Looking ahead, I can only see them getting stronger when they add some more depth to their defensive ranks and possibly replace some of their midfield stoppers with a bit more finesse and guile (Jack Wilshire, de Rossi, Busqeuts, Alcantara someone of that ilk).
in some ways it's very refreshing to see City right up there .. Chelsea blew onto scene in a way somewhat similar to Blackburn when they bought a cracking side , S a S up front .. Problem I see at City is such big names having to put up with being on the bench , Nasri not much of a run , Djeko & Ballotelli vying for one place .. time will only tell ..
It doesn't matter about player unrest at City, they will just replace them with more big money signings. Hence my point earlier about Tevez and Adebayor.
Just look at the strikers that have come and gone since 2009.
Craig Bellamy £14M Robinho £32M SWP £9M Jo £18M Adebayor £25M Santa Cruz £18M Tevez £???M
it's ok just bringing in a big buy , but still needs time to settle .. adjust to premier league football .. Im sure City will do very well , most likely win the League , but wheels can always come off ..

it will have to be reigned in at some stage though Andy, won't it when these FFP rules kick in....

Yeah it will have to Colm although with the money from the naming rights of the stadium and other sponsorship deals like shirt sponsors etc they might find loopholes.
The owners are serious about City though that's for sure. The new training facilities they are building are incredible and it points to them being involved for a long long time.
Arsenal are doing well, but they really rely on VP for their goals, and if he gets injured I think they ll struggle to score. City on the other hand have an almost like for like player in most positions, and I still think they ll strengthen their squad come January. Spurs and Newcastle, two decent sides who have looked good this season, have been made to look ordinary by City, which points to their title imo..
Quote by RVP's Left FootMan City will romp it. By far the best squad and team.
Mancini is quality !
Just doing what United and Chelsea have been doing for last ten years - buying the league.
Yes, because it's just as simple as that, isn't it? Nothing to do with being organised and hard to break down, buying the right players. fostering a good team spirit, preparing your sides to the maximum, maintaining the proper balance between defence and attack, building teams, rebuilding teams. Nothing to do with any of that at all.
