On the subject of Gary Speed - without knowing the full facts, i struggle to have any respect for someone that takes their own life. He's left a wife & 2 children behind, they're the people i feel sorry for.

Beyond gutted. I have no reason to love him as he didn't play for my club but it is just testament to how decent a human being he was as the remorse shown by all the supporters up and down the land is quite simply amazing. A special footballer and an even more special guy. A big loss to everyone. God Bless you Speedy. You've gone to a better place now.

to feel the need to take your own life , you must be in an extremely dark place , I have every sympathy for him , of course who he's left behind , but if it was suicide things in his life must have been pretty desperate to have to do this .. a friend of mine hung himself , life dealt him an unreal shitty hand , lost so much in his personal life , he felt suicide was his only option .

I'm not denying that its a terrible thing to happen & he was obviously in a very dark place. I also did state that i struggle to have sympathy, not that i didn't have any at all. I also stated that i didn't know all the facts. Has it been confirmed that he had depression?
At the end of the day its all about opinions and my opinion is that nothing is that bad that you need to take your own life, leave your wife without a husband & your kids fatherless. I guess strength of character has a lot to do with it. I've known people that have lost the will to live, been lower than a snakes bollocks, but haven't felt the need to take their own life.

I often try to justify suicide as the easy way out but it takes some bollocks to take your own life, Even if your in the darkest of places, that decision at that moment must be intense. A shame, Is anything confirmed as yet the reason
4 Weeks today a lad i grew up with 20 years took his life, the human mind nobody knows how it works, To take your life you must seriously be in a very dark place and tbh i agree with Ja some bollocks to go ahead with it
