Know your not talking directly at me, but Lampard has to be one of the most underated English footballers of all time. Different story if he was a bit of a thicko with a Scouse accent

think the tag is laughable myself at this stage but it comes from when Frank was a youth team player and making a name for himself - he was back then thought of as potentially excellent an footballer and as far back as the late 80s he gets a mention in John Lyall's book as a promising young player when he could have been no more than about 9. However, back in his West Ham youth team days he was anything but well conditioned and even if you look at footage of his early seasons in the Hammers first team he was fairly chunky for a footballer! Had an arse J Lo would have been proud of!
I think the worst thing in this affair was the young kids abusing Evra. That old man has probably always been a racist and his ways will never change. For a 8 year old or so to be giving Evra abuse is pretty saddening I must say.

we would get 6 months for some of the songs we used to sing back in 80's on our PC obssessed world. i think th Oldam player summed it up for me. The one that cried because a fan said he was a black b###tard. ye its wrong, so is calling crounch a freak and scottish peole the obsentities ive read on here. i always took it as part of fan culture. people behave in strange ways at football some times. doesnt make it right butr surely we cannot demonise every player/fan who saysd the slightest slur. i think a lot on here are the new breed of fan and will disagree. Just think p[layers should leave things on the pitch,running ro refs cryinbg because u were called a name would make old school players laugh. same with some remarks made by fans. I remmeber ally mcoist calling a group of uss sheep shaggers at a corner once. we thought it was funny and gave him dogs for the next half hour. He just laughed as we did. so fair play to him,I think the rest need to relise it s a mans game and things get said sometimes

yes times certainly have changed , watch Rising Damp see how close to the knuckle that was , even in Only Fools Del says ' go to the paki shop ' . or Steptoe & Son , all very un-pc ..

Where do you draw the line though mate, what about bananas on the pitch is that jus fun and games? For me any racism at football is wrong, full stop. You can spout off about "our PC obsessed world" but I'd much rather have a situation where someone making monkey noises is on the front page of every paper than one of several thousand in the stands.
