Currently reading 'The Big Short' by Michael Lewis. Explains the financial meltdown in lay man's terms and a bloody good read it is too. Lewis also wrote the best book I ever read about any sport, 'Moneyball', about baseball and the use of stats involved in the sport (sounds boring as but it's a magnificent read)...
Stewart Lee, how I escaped my certain fate. It's alright. Lastbreally good books I read were the red riding david peace ones, unusual for me as I don't really go for fiction, except comedies
Currently Coventry, Originally Sheffield (soon to return me finks)
Just finished a quick read worth having a gander @ 'Wojtek the Bear: Polish War Hero'
True story of the bear 'Wojtek' who the Polish army picked up as a cub in Persia and made a serviceman who served in Monte Casino (I shit you not). The bear ended up living in South West Scotland. Good quick read.
Hemingway's 'For Whom the Bell Tolls' people always sound surprised when I say I don't really like old Ernest and this has been recommended as the book that could change my mind. Only about 50 pages in and it's not bad, nothing life changing either though

I kinda want a bear now![/quote]
Friend of the family made his way to Tehran after release from political arrest (Polish nationalist) to regroup under Sikorsky and fought at Monte Cassino (among others). The reading at his funeral bought a tear to my eye, I'm not ashamed to admit. RIP Jan a true gentleman
