Lovely round the Marina isn't it. I remember going a good few years back and thought it was ok but I went on a lads golfing trip a couple of years ago and had a few nights round the marina and was impressed how much it had improved, Irish bar was a good crack from midnight onwards. The 3 of us went last Sept for my 40th and loved it so gonna go back again this May hopefully. Some nice restaurants there now, we are probably going to try the Crown Plaza this time as stayed at the Hilton last year which was great but 10-15 minutes out. Funnily enough Cyprus was the other option. Hopefully get something booked this weekend.
Yeh great place stayed in Vila gale next to crown plaza right on beach and edge of marina. Like you say some good bars, think it was Irish bar we used to go in, tasty bar staff and a band every night... The beast John Parkin was in each night with his mates was quite funny when a table collapsed they were dancing on and his mate who was a nasty scowling looking bloke cut the palm of his hand pretty bad. Had a good night in albufeira old town one of the nights.
Been to Fowey a few times, girlfriend's got a fisherman's cottage over the water in Polruan. The odd chance comes up to go there when it's not being let, but it's a bastard long way to Cornwall.

Thought you London types would fly down ; )
Flew from Brum to Newquay once with Flybe for £40 returm, but they'd stopped the route last time I checked. The airport down there was like a bus station.
Flying to Los Angeles in 3 weeks where I'm vising a friend. Other than that got a weekend in Gothenburg coming up in May, and probably a small european tour with the girl sometime during the summer. Preferably italy, or maybe one of the eastern countries.

Booked last night after all this holiday talk. Ended up choosing the Four Seasons which was on our short list as pool looks a little more child friendly for a rampant 2 yr old. Looking forward it. From the bits I can remember the Band we used to see were excellent, good variety of music but were particularly good with Stereophonics, The Script etc. That Parkin is a beast thats for sure, seems to have been around for ages now, sure he was on loan at Scunthorpe last season !!
6 months in Thornton, Fife. The other 6 months in Aracaju, Brazil

Quite fancied Croatia this year. Dubrovnik is supposed to be immense. More likely have a week in North Norfolk in the summer
went for 4 days to Dubrovnik last year and fell in love with the place. Its really is a stunning place. It was busy and very touristy but didn't feel rushed was a very calm and friendly place. If you do go, go up the cable car and visit the museum and see the pictures of the destruction of Dubrovnik during the war and to see it now is unreal. Hope to go back soon

Nice one. We've got a Kuoni voucher to use and there's some spectacular hotels on their list. Unfortuantely the voucher will only cover half a night in one of their Dubrojnik hotels.
A mate of mine travelled Croatia last year. Think he went up to the same place as Gav. Said he didn't book anywhere just spoke to people in the town squares and bars and asked if they'd let them a room for the night. I thought he was taking the piss until I saw his photos, lots of snaps of old Croatia folk in their kitchens and the like. Mad cunt.
Been to Barcelona, Lisbon and going to Turin next week for the football, got a long weekend in Ireland when I come back from Turin then 2 weeks in Cancun with the mrs in September

2010 and 2012 there. SUPERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRBBBBBB as single Take a look by Irish Pub Daks mate. Nice as starter for the evening.
Andorra is a good option for kids new to skiing. Went there 4 times when I was a kid and loved it. The Sport Hotel in Soldeu is excellent and only a few hundred yards from the gondola.
Often looked at Andora but never been. Trouble is we usually only manage to get for a long weekend or 4 days so end up flying to Geneva and tend to look for the shorter transfers so last few times we've been to Avoriaz which we love and have got to know quite well now, ideal as ski to door, few decent bars and restaurants and the skiing is great. If we can get for a week may try Andorra as I've heard a few say its good.

Well, 5 years ago was it cheap there. Now think the normal prices there mate. Think £2 for a pint at Restaurants etc, and in clubs some more for beer and booze. Just spend last year there 1200 euro's in 12 days. Its indeed possible for £1 a pint by a bar i think, but every year other actions etc.
Oh, BTW look out for the horrible Bulgarian people there. They ask for money the little kids, and they will ripp you of! ( Maybe is walk there still a boy with reverse legs [spook] ) Don't walk never alone in the night mate.
Boulevard is a massive place with a lot of young people, and also much couples. Night out is fuckin brilliant there
