Welfare reform is going to be the bane of my life this year. As much as I despise the current 'everything for nothing' culture, the pending changes are highly unfair.

Hardly, benefit fraud is a drop in the ocean when compared to the billions of unpaid labour. It's the parasites at the top of society sucking us all dry, not a few scroungers at the bottom.

We have in place in this country whereby people that are too drugged up, too pissed or to fat to work, so what do we do, we throw money at them! Then, get this will allow foreign nationals into the country to do the low paid jobs the afor mentioned can't be arsed to do and what do they do with it, either send it 'home' or save up enough to return and buy themselves a nice little house.
The sums don't add up, welcome to Broken Britain or should that be Broke Britain!
You lot do know most of the welfare bill goes to people who are already in work and pensioners, right? The scare stories about people with 8 kids getting houses and cars are shocking, yes, but they are a drop in the ocean compared to the amount millions of us receive for housing top-up, child care, tax credits etc. Its great divide-and-rule politics though, get the proles fighting amongst themselves so they ignore the bigger issues of tax avoidance and breaks for the very richest.
I know something's wrong when I come home from work and see lads that haven't and won't work standing outside the bar smoking and pissed, this is everyday not a one off,

Anecdotal evidence isn't borne out by facts though. I'm yet to hear a cognant argument as to how coalition policy will do anything but harm Britain's working poor.

Shhh, the last thing a topic like this needs is sense!
Quote: redmond wrote in post #4theres to many taking the piss out of genuine working familys
Agreed. But the Government are taking the piss out of people who are genuinely unable to work. Many of whom, prior to illness, had jobs.
And the ones who lost their jobs through redundancy etc... I and 29 others were made redundant around 3 yrs ago due to UKBA unfairly taking away my employers Licence. He went from around a Million a month turnover to zero money coming in. He had the ability to take the UKBA to court which was a costly and lengthy process! The damage done will take a long time to recover from. All staff still working there have been on 50% pay reduction. And some of the people I worked with are still looking for work. This has a huge effect on those that have bills to pay! And those who have worked most of their life do not want to sign on and be looked down upon by those who dont know their circumstances? Some of these twats in the Job Centre look down on the ones signing on like they are scum!!
The people taking the piss are the bankers and capitalists. We are paying for their crisis with savage cuts on our living standards while they continue to make even more profit.

Yet, 'New' Labour had how many years to put it right?

Why would anyone who doesnt have the British people's interests at heart do anything??

The only thing politicians are interested in is, whats in it for them!
