Quote by mkj1972Also who did Liverpool beat in 81 Real Madrid hardly a small club are they??? Fergie has done well in 25 years but 2 European Cups is a poor return even he admits that himself. As i said before his domestic success is unrivaled.
Don't get me wrong, you had to beat a top side to win it but you could get easy draws.
This is the run Liverpool had in 1977 to win the European cup.
1st round - Crusaders 2nd round - Trabzonspor QF - St Etienne SF - Zurich F - Borussia Monchengladbach
You can only beat whose name comes out of the hat.Liverpool quite rightly qualified for the European Cup as Champions unlike these days you can finish 4th & have a crack at the European Cup.When Liverpool won it in 2005 one of the worst Liverpool teams i have ever seen!
Totally agree and like I said, the hardest thing back then was qualifying for it in the first place.
Lets not forget that United have played in three of the last four finals. The fact that the best club side I have ever seen have beaten them twice in two of those finals should not be forgotten. The Liverpool side that Paisley managed didn't come up against a side like this Barcelona team.
I`m a big Barca fan but not sure if they are the best club side ever AC Milan & Real Madrid could arguably lay claim to that too.
I'm not a fan of Barca.
I'm not sure which Real Madrid side you are on about? Unless you mean the one that won five European cups when there was only about four teams playing in it? I never saw them play so can't possibly judge.
I well remember the AC Milan side and they were indeed a great team but this current Barca side would have had their number I reckon.

Sorry Dave , but Wenger is someone who blames everyone and everything else other than him or his team , very sour faced cunt - not well liked either by other managers ..
No doubting Steve, Wenger does like a moan.Up There with the best. Hes not in the job to be liked by twats like Sam Allardyce and Tony Pullis.
Well, I tell them there's no problem Only solutions

he's not Dave , but I do think he alienates himself from many managers , his sportsmanship is piss poor , is you look at the amount of spats he has had , Dalgleish , Hughes , Fergie , Pardew - just a quick few off the top of my head ...
