at this stage Andy, the difference is Terry hasn't actually been charged with anything. Yet. Whatever your opinion on Terry, he is absolutely vital to this Chelsea side and he has been a complete leader of men at the club since assuming captaincy way back when. Terry is no saint, many people find him odious but I can assure you one thing - if he was called Terence John, came from Berkshire and played rugby for WASPs he wouldn't have received an ounce of bad press. Much of the (unjustified in many cases) bad press aimed at Terry, Cole, Rooney et al is, in my opinion, because of they are from working class backgrounds, uneducated and easy targets.
Terry is replaceable IMHO. I was at the Wigan game on Saturday and thought he looked like an average defender at best. He made a few silly errors and kept time wasting at 1-0 and encouraging his team mates to do so also, which cost them dearly in the end. I think he was absolutely vital to Chelsea, but not any more. I think Chelsea should get rid of him, Lampard, Cech, Kalou and Mikel. Get in a couple of world class signing and form a new spine to the team.
the old guard will get replaced over the next 2 seasons. Personally, I think lamps can still contribute like scholes did at Utd for a couple of seasonS. JT hasn't been helped either AW the fact his partner every week was changing, luiz is a nutcase and the tactics are probably the worst possible to play for him personally at this stage of his career. Mikel, malouda, kaloo should have gone 2-3 seasons ago. Cech I think has suffered from complacency at times having no decent no 2 and bein assured of a start. He's also never been quite the same since that cunt hunt did him.

as I've said before generally about this whole area, the thing that doesn't sit well with me is how outraged people are if a non-coloured person uses the 'N' word but yet some coloured individuals don't seem to mind it when their Rap buddies are spewing it out every song. Of course, the rap buddies would tend to be coloured also which kind of makes the whole thing ironic. A word that's fine to say if you're black, but terrible if you're not, outrageous to call someone...unless you throw 'Ho' into the sentence as well

Honestly, how can anyone doubt that Suarez is one of the biggest monsters in football, and has been for years? He was a scumbag in Ajax, scumbag for his national side, and obviously he's also a scumbag in Liverpool. He should have gotten a bigger financial fine.
I know a lot of rough things are said during football games, but he's even admitted calling him negrito, which, whether you like it or not, is racist. It's as simple as that.

They could have released a statement, like Chelsea did today, where they give their backing to their player without the finger pointing, without the sour grapes whilst at the same time respecting due process. They didn't and I too thought that statement released by Liverpool was pathetic.
I'm not getting into a slagging match on this but I will say this: if John Terry and Luis Suarez are guilty of breaking the law of the land, the law of the game etc they should face whatever the sanctions are for their crime. This blind loyalty is all well and good but did you ever (or indeed Chelsea fans backing Terry come what may) stop and think for one minute that Suarez (and JT) are actually in the wrong? Colm, you normally speak sense but on this occassion you are way off. Terry, Cole and Rooney are scumbags - you can't blame the press for the way the three of that cunts behave on and off the pitch. They make themselves easy targets by their actions. never see Frank Lampard getting the bad press that the other three get. Never ask yourself why ?
Terry is a hero for you Chelsea lads and I can see why.
