Violent protest is almost acceptable until you see scenes of looting. Looting shows that the blind anger that makes violence passable, isn't there, and instead it shows an ability to plan and use foresight. Perhaps they should have used that foresight to see that looting undermines any cause.
I can understand, even sympathise, with the rioters in terms of taking on the police. Looting and mindless violence directed at their own communities (and I mean that in terms of area, friends etc and not some idealised happy clappy bullshit community idea) is not on, actually it's disgusting.
Eye's right, skin back tight, bollocks to the front, we're the boy's who make more noise when we're on the cunt, we're the riders of the night, and we'd rather fuck than fight, we're the riders of the Clock end Highbury

Not wanting to appear confrontational or a fan of the filth but can you explain your sympathies and how you understand the rioters? Maybe I have missed something but some drug dealing gun carrying nutjob fires at an armed copper and this somehow justifies this reaction? Am sorry for his kids, but just don't get it.
