last night was very similar to the way it kicks off with english football teams in europe where people think there's no consequence, so there's no fear. have a ruck, get locked up, get sent home. there was an element of 'they got away with it' in tottenham that i think partly fuelled last night.
The video of that kid getting mugged sums it up perfectly. What has that got to do with social unrest/inequality blah blahfuckingblah. Poor sod must have been shitting a brick. Have been away and been catching up on it all, have yet to see any 'protest' of any sort (apart from the initial vigil thing in Tottenham), its the attitude of pretend gangsters rioting against 'babylon' what a load of old shite. Its the chav attitude, the I-know-my-rights and expect everything to be provided. Because of whats gone on before , plod/government etc etc are scared shitless of being branded racist and that gives every chancer out there the opportunity of claiming they're being persecuted when in actual fact they're lowlife scum. Must be absolutely soul destroying for some of the older people from these areas

Very true. But I also agree with the viewpoint from the pennyred blog. While what you say will be, most certainly, the true feeling of everyone out there doing it, there are social, political, and economic issues, unbeknownst to those on the street, which have led them to acting in the manner which you describe.

As already said, I don't like the way the police conduct themselves at football, last season alone, I got punched in the head (two weeks after having my cheek shattered) by a MET copper, I got a trunchon across my knee cap at a Wales game, and all for no fucking reason really, other than being a bit drunk and lively/excited about the day, whatever. As I assure you, I'm no trouble maker at football. I'd be gutted if I was banned from going for something. I certainly don't like the way the old bill and government have destroyed literally a hundred plus lads from Chelsea/Cardiff's livelihoods. Sending a kid down for 16 months for a first offence which boiled down to throwing a traffic cone into the street at nobody. It's fucking bullshit. That's not even including how they stitched me right up for my own convictions.
But there is a big differentiation between the plod making football supporters lives a misery for the sake of it, and a bunch of chavs destroying your stuff for a laugh. So yeah, bollocks to politics, how corrupt the ''establishment'' is, and how much we all dislike the plod at times. Smashing up your own community and terrorizing your own neighbours is straight up fucking daft. As someone said on here, they have no cause, if they do, it's that they live in shitholes, so moan that you live in a shithole then shit on your own doorstep? Fuck off. Hope the police batter them. Put the scum down!
McMurdo, 100% agree with you on the rioters. The majority appear to be clueless morons and the way they have conducted themselves (i.e. smashing up people's private property, looting, attacking/mugging people, setting fires with no regard to life) is appalling. There is no two ways about it, it is just plain wrong. However, I very much dislike the police and I am pretty justified in adopting such a stance, which I do not wish to get into in too much detail about - but reasons include racism and a fracturied eye-socket (nothing to do with football whatsoever). Thus, I strongly dislike the police. This does not mean that I am in any way advocating the behaviour of the rioters, but it is always nice to see the police on the recieving end.
You say it's nice to see them on the receiving end though. Do you not think they are having a fucking ball of a time right now? Because I assure you they are. You don't become a riot copper because you don't love a bit of bother. It's the same deal as football, the lads kicking off with shields and batons are there for exactly the same reason as the lads in Doc Martins and Stone Island. They just chose to be on the right side of the law whilst they did it.
Futhermore, the pigeonhole all the police as scum because of your own experiences just like I am ashamably guilty of a lot, is no different to when the police pigeonhole all us cardiff fans who like our gear as Yobs/Hooligans and whatever else. Well a number of them have been hospitalised, so no, they probably aren't having a fucking ball of a time right now. Yes, I base my conceptions on the police on my own personal experiences, what else am I going to base them on? It is not just a single incident that I base my conceptions on in any case. Are you seriously trying to equate racism to disliking an organisation, which it has been proved is institutionally racist? I am sure there are some out there who are alright personally (although I am yet to meet one), but as an organisation they are rotten.
